South Africa: Knysna
Knysna is a casie town in Western Cape province of South Africa.
Thesen House hosts cool collection of art exhibits
the walkway below the shelter is nice
some doors have this somewhat authentic style
interesting installation
well enough of art, let’s start exploring the city, Knysna waterfront is the center of the city
it consists of small channels where you’ll find a lot of boats, restaurant and cafes
moving bridge opens up to allow larger boats to enter the waterfront
some boats are being cleaned up or repaired
and then put into the water through this special platforms
the post boxes are similar to US post boxes but they are attached on the columns, unlike in US where they are too large and are put on the ground
trash bins in Knysna look like this
Knysna has a lot of cool buildings with valuable architecture, unfortunately the facades are mutilated by air conditioners
one of the main typical south african food is Biltong, which is basically a semi-dried pieces of meet. To me they didn’t taste good.
significant part of Knysna is an island called Thesen
where as you seen rich people live
group of tourist are taking e-bike tour around the island
guy searching for wild creatures
nature in Knysna is fantastic, as you’ve already seen most of the colors from Knysna are unusually bright, this is naturally so because of clean air
like this one, with super high contrast of colors, yes this is real, you’ll see the same bright colors also with your naked eyes.
Thesen island is known for oyster growing. Here you see the shells of oysters dumped into water after eating the edible part of them.
another cool boat
a very simple and at the same time very beautiful decoration
nope, this is not a decoration, but the combination of pipe colors, wall color seems so cool, so yeah consider it as an art object.
slightly on higher altitude next to Knysna is the Margaret’s viewpoint, from there you’ll enjoy the fantastic view of Knysna
