Tunisia: El Jem

Tunisia has a lot of historical great inheritance, but this one is outstanding.
El Jem is like coliseum in Rome, has been used for gladiator fights.

It is very well preserved and can be listed among such historical building like in Rome or Verona.
El Jem is unique, because it has been built on ground without a fundament

The city of El Jem is almost uninteresting, where you can see the colosseum sporadically from narrow streets

the neighborhood of colosseum is interesting

inside El Jem some reconstruction is going on, hopefully they would not over-reconstruct

corridors are just majestic with tunisian sunlight

El Jem city is almost uninteresting, even the doors are not that cool like in other cities of Tunisia

people put their bird cages outside, so birds can enjoy some sun
