Kairouan is very beautiful city in somewhat central Tunisia.
The pronunciation of the city name is quite a challenge but it is a unesco world heritage sight.

Right outside the old medina of Kairouan is the water reservoirs calls Aghlabid basins, the water has been used by 4th century inhabitant for agricultural needs.

instead of bar people get around a tea normally, this is how a typical tea drinking desk looks like

the architectural style beyond the old town (media) is typically very chaotic or with unique examples of interesting arabic styles

The medina of Kairouan is a walled city, access to which is taking place with such amazing gates

in medina there a lot of picturesque or causie corners

tunisian doors deserve a special attention, they are art by themselves

beggar in the narrow streets in medina

super tool street signes

cats fighting in front of an amazing door

Kairouan is known for this three door mosque

in general streets in media look like this

residents hang their garbage in plastic bags, which will be collected later

cats are integral part of any tunisian medina

Kairouan has been known for being one of the centers of islamic studies in the world

in the very center of medina is located the Great Mosque of Kairouan or mosque of Uqba
